We have had some device attributes expire that contained customer input data (ie, vanityName of a device or alert switches). Attempting to access old data to re-populate the attribute I discover that data only seems to go back about 6 months. Is there a way to get data that is older?

What you may be running into here is your Organizations Data Retention Limit.
You can find this value for your Organization on the Resource Limit Page down at the bottom:
By default, this value for Enterprise Licences is 180 days. It can, however, be extended. You will need to contact your Account Manager to discuss this data retention limit increase.
Is there a way to get data that is older?
Any data that is older than your data retention limit is deleted.

Is there a specific reason why you are storing this data as device attributes and not Device Tags?

To add a bit more, you can also enable Application Archiving which allows you to to save a copy of an Application’s Device data, Events, and/or Data Tables on either Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure.

Good Question… Unfortunately that is something that was inherited. There appears to be a workflow that refreshes attribute values every so often but it started failing at some point due to taking longer than 60 seconds to execute. I will start the process of transitioning to device tags / data tables / data archiving for user specified device values so that we do not experience this again.
Is there any chance that even for a fee we could gain access to older data?
