Is anyone out there using hardware gateways with the Losant Edge Agent that have rs485/modbus built in?
We are using RS485 MODBUS on pi’s
Given the edge agent only works with TCP I use mbusd as a TCP/Serial proxy installed as
systemd service and the edge agent talks to localhost
Works a treat as long as you don’t have a RS485 cable running too close to a noisy VSD 
- the USB RS485 adaptors we where using inputs where getting killed by the noise on the VSD switching on. (poor choice of RS485 adaptor)
We also use the ProconX MODG modbus gateway. https://www.proconx.com/modbus-tcp-gateway
These work well. There are a bunch of these devices out there.
