I’d like to be able to send commands from a dashboard using a button or perhaps a text entry field.
Does anyone have any insight into how I’d go about doing either?

This is a great idea. We’re actively evaluating the best way to implement this.
Currently, there isn’t a way to do this unless you create a hosted iframe custom button that calls the Losant API.
