Edge agent connectivity

I understand that the edge agent must have the ability to connect to the Losant backend to be able to manage edge workflows.
(Unless there is another way to manage it)
But if I just use the edge agent to collect local ModbusData and insert in to a local database, are there time limits to how long it could operate “offline” to the outside and still be fully functional locally?

We do not impose any time limits on how long the Edge Agent can process workflows offline.
