# Input Controls - send value to device

Hi all!  
I have several Input Controls /Toggle Switchs) on a Dashboard and I was wondering if there is a faster way to send the commands (payloads) to the devices without using the workflows?  
Or maybe it could be an idea: to send command on change.

Maybe there’s an easy way? Thank you in advance!

Hi @Filipe_Teixeira,

Welcome to the Losant Forums! When you say “faster,” what do you mean? If your device accepts commands, have you tried `Send Device Command` instead of `Trigger Workflow` [in the Input Control Block](https://docs.losant.com/dashboards/input-controls/#button-triggers)?

Hi Julia! Thank you for your quick reply. I think it was a misunderstood from my side. I missed this: _“. Buttons are the only control that performs an action.”_

My question was: Is there any way that a Toggle Switch performs an action directly? From an user perspective I think it might be a good idea to have this feature.
