# Industrial equipment monitor worklow question

Hi there,  
I loaded the Industrial Equipment Monitor template and enabled the 2 minutes periodic Workflow called Simulated Devices.  
However I am puzzled by the flow for the 2 reasons:

- where does it change the device status? the only output node I see is debug?
- where does it generate the random numbers for each properties?

If you look inside the [Loop Node](https://docs.losant.com/workflows/logic/loop/) on the canvas, you will see the set of nodes for generating the random data and for writing state for each returned device using the [Device: State Node](https://docs.losant.com/workflows/outputs/device-state/).
