# How to send data to losant platform over websocket

I created a Gateway device in losant to which I want to send data by websocket-client (eg. [socket.io](http://socket.io)). I am able to send data through MQTT client as given in Documentation. But I need help in sending data by WebSocket.

Losant does not have first-class support for receiving data via websocket connection. As you’ve mentioned, we do support connections to our [MQTT broker](https://docs.losant.com/mqtt/overview/#the-losant-message-broker) over `ws` or `wss` protocols. Alternative options are to send the data to Losant via [webhook](https://docs.losant.com/applications/webhooks/) request or one of our other supported [integrations](https://docs.losant.com/applications/integrations/).

I will file this as a feature request and follow up on this thread if I have any updates.
