I find the Event Trigger Node rather limited in that it can’t filter the trigger by device or tags. It would be good to add this and add similar device filtering features as the Device State Trigger node.

I am using the Event Trigger to then send email alerts but its more work to first filter the payload by device/customer.

Hi @paul_wareham,

I will create a Feature Request for this and update you should it be implemented.

Thanks so much!

Thanks.

Do you have any best practices for workaround when one would like to trigger based on Event activity for a specific device or device tag/group?

Hi @paul_wareham,

At this time, the only way to do this would be to filter after the Event Trigger. You could use a [Device: Get Node](https://docs.losant.com/workflows/data/get-device/) and, based on your use case, a [Conditional Node](https://docs.losant.com/workflows/logic/conditional/), [Latch Node](https://docs.losant.com/workflows/logic/latch/), or [Switch Node](https://docs.losant.com/workflows/logic/switch/) for your routing. Since there is only one trigger for Events, it is not currently possible to simultaneously trigger and filter.

Thanks!
Julia
