# Display device name on an input controls block

Hello.

I wanted to display my device’s name in an input controls block with a text input but with dynamic values I can only choose from attributes of the device. I was wondering if there’s some other way of displaying it in a text input that I didn’t manage to find in the documentation nor in the forum.

Hello,

Currently, device name is not supported by Context Variables, but depending on your use case, you could use context strings. You could set your device name to a string context variable and then reference it in label or value of the input block.

I will send a feature request over to our developers to support device name in the future!

I have run into this more than a few times, and would really like to have deviceId and deviceName available to the input controls blocks.
